• Ah, the summertime. Who doesn’t love it? Although it seems like this season just kicked off, believe it or not, it is now the time to start thinking about your Fall and Winter weddings!

If you have a wedding planner or coordinator, they will have more than likely spoken to you about this already. This is one of the reasons why you should strongly consider hiring a wedding planner. If you are a client of The Renaissance, GREAT NEWS, one is already included for you. Other venues may include this service as well, but to be safe, you should check and then consider hiring your own if they do not.

There are a few things that will need to be considered now to make sure that you are ready on your big day.

    COLORS

In the fall and winter seasons you will have a wide range of colors to choose from depending on whether or not you are in October, November, or maybe even December. Fall comes with its own color scheme, pretty much, of browns, oranges, reds, and yellows (think beautiful fall foliage) and ALWAYS looks good in our ballroom. For the holiday season you may want to consider some favorite holiday or Christmas themed colors. You can’t go wrong with Reds and Greens. But Blue and Ivory are also smart choices.

    FLORALS

Just like with colors, there are SO many flowers to potentially choose from. There are fall leaves, ivies, roses, peonies, and hydrangeas. These all come in multiple colors and will work for any bouquet or table centerpiece. Your florist will be more than happy to work with you and your planner to make it everything you want it to be. If you are thinking more “winter” instead of “fall”, you can think about simple greenery, tulips, roses (they are popular), poinsettias, lilies, and different berries. Don’t be afraid to ask for ideas from your florist and having a Pinterest account can help here too. (Don’t get us started on OUR pinterest accounts!!) LOL

    MUSIC

This is a hard one but very important in regards to a successful fall/holiday/winter wedding. You are NOT obligated to play Christmas music or any themed music but it’s always nice to have a few songs that may go along with the season. It always makes people happy!! Your DJ and planner can work with you to make sure you choose the perfect music lineup for your reception and maybe even through in a time-appropriate song for your ceremony as well.

OH..and don’t forget that you are entering into a season where your guests will be wearing coats, jackets, wraps, and shawls. The Renaissance has a fantastic coat-check service (for a very small fee) that you guests will love and feel comfortable with. If you are at a different venue it never hurts to ask about a coat-check service.
